In the petrochemical industry, oil storage tanks need to be regularly repaired to extend their service life. At present, most domestic petrochemical plants still use manual sandblasting for rust removal and cleaning. However, before formal sandblasting and rust removal, it usually costs a lot of money and time to lease and erect scaffolding, and a large amount of poluttions such as dust, noise, mineral sand waste, etc. will be generated during the sandblasting process, causing environmental pollution. In recent years, with the increasing strictness of national environmental protection inspectors and rising labor costs, traditional manual sandblasting and rust removal can no longer meet the needs of work, and a new technology is needed to fill the gap.

On August 29, 2019, the staff of Shenzhen AKA Robotics Technology Co., LTD brought the latest research and development results: “Ex” series explosion-proof wall climbing robots and complete sets of equipment to a petrochemical plant in Guangdong Province, and had a series of exchanges with petrochemical plant leaders and cleaners on the spot on robots to replace manual sandblasting for green cleaning. T

he “Ex” series wall climbing robot of AKA Robotics adopts an explosion-proof design and is suitable for operation in explosive environments in petrochemical plant Zone II. After on-site testing, the robot’s rust removal performance is stable and reliable, with a rust removal efficiency of 30~45m²/h, a rust removal effect of Sa2.5, and no flash rust after cleaning, and can be sprayed directly.

The whole process does not need to build scaffolding, and after overall accounting, the robot rust removal time is only 1/6 of the manual sandblasting time, and the comprehensive cost is only 1/4 of manual sandblasting.

Finally, the sewage containing rust residue is directly discharged into the sewage pipe network of the petrochemical plant after multi-stage separation and treatment by the recycling and treatment device supporting AKA Robotics, which truly achieves green, efficient and pollution-free, and has been well received by the petrochemical leaders and cleaning companies on site.

“Robot + high-pressure water rust removal and cleaning technology” has become the future development trend of green cleaning. The team of AKA Robotics will always uphold the craftsman spirit of focus, innovation, collaboration, science, pragmatism and leanness, with the purpose of “returning the world to cleanliness and making work safe”, constantly upgrade the technology of robots and develop new products to meet the actual needs of customers, and strive to build the company into a focus and leader in the field of special robots.
