Guangzhou Shipyard International Co., Ltd. (GSI), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, stands as the largest and most modern integrated shipbuilding and repair enterprise in South China. GSI’s storied legacy spans over a century—from the founding of the “Guangnan Dock” in 1914 and its official factory establishment in 1954 to its evolution from building 100-ton vessels to constructing South China’s very first 10,000-ton vessel.
Overcoming severe space constraints through strategic expansion, GSI launched its Longxue base in 2004 and integrated its regional resources by 2012, ultimately achieving a historic breakthrough with the construction of a 300,000-ton Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC).
Following its successful public listing in 1993 and its strategic consolidation in Nansha in 2018, GSI shattered records by pioneering China’s first luxury Ro-Ro passenger vessels and semi-submersible ships.
Today, GSI achieves large-scale, batch production of high-tech, high-value-added vessels. Driven by a pioneering spirit, the people of GSI remain dedicated to their core mission: “Casting dreams of the deep blue, serving as a vanguard for naval defense, and standing as a model for intelligent manufacturing.”
